to improve upon my 2D concept I decided to create a 3d model in scultptris this proved difficult as i only had the 1 character viewpoint rather than a side front and back profile like i usually would if i wanted to make this kind of model.

Sea Creature Mood board

for this weeks assignment we are tasked to create a aquatic creature i decided to create a more threatening merman/mermaid idea almost straight away and my mood board reflects my initial ideas through lots of images of different fantasy mermaids.

Box Modelling

Character box modelling is probably one of my last favourite activities especially if we are not doing our own design but rather trying to replicate someone else's work my attempts at the Minotaur monsters are below although i may need to improve upon them further in future.


not too happy with the topology in either model i feel i will need to try and improve my box modelling considerably

Ninja


just a bit of work off of my own back the reason he looks a little 'feminine' is because he was female right until the end of the design where i changed the hairstyle and thought a male character looked better for the role of a blind warrior or zatoichi.

Rat Creature




For my team game i have produced a rat character using basic box modelling techniques to improve upon this model i need to make the coat look less boxy and model it in a way that the arm and coat will not collide and cause it to look like the arm travels through the coat.

Me.....sort of





this was my first ever experience with box modelling...not a pretty sight my future work i put a lot more time and effort into and i achieved better results

after a bit of a play around came up with this design i still need to improve the uvw with pictures rather than basic colors but it works well at the moment to show any problems with my uvw mesh for example the eyes catching slightly with the area around the face.
